On the moon, the jade rabbit grinds herbs into the elixir of immortality. That mythology inspires the botanical drinks and rituals being developed for YUTU.
Yutu, the Jade Rabbit, lives on the moon with the goddess Chang'e. Every night, in a mortar of pale jade stone, she grinds dried osmanthus, goji, chrysanthemum, and a dozen other herbs into the elixir of immortality. This is one of the oldest stories in Chinese mythology, told for more than two thousand years.
Our menu vision is that mortar, opened. Twelve elixirs, each named for a herb Yutu grinds on the moon. The developing drinks explore intentional preparation and the ritual of grinding botanicals in a jade mortar.

An intimate, guided tasting is being developed around the jade mortar, botanical preparation, and carefully paired small bites. The vision includes alcoholic and non-alcoholic expressions.
